The library was established in 1999. Upon the request of philanthropist Kurken Kurdoghlian, the library’s official inauguration was held on 12 October, 2001 by Rev. Aram Deyirmendjian. On this occasion, the National Council and the library committee organized an event marking the Feast of Holy Translators (Tarkmantchats) for the first time in the community. A literary group was also established but was not productive.

The library has 2711 books divided among the following categories: 1420 Armenian books (literary, historical, cultural), 143 religious books, 85 Armenian textbooks, 45 Armenian classic literature works, 127 books on political topics (Armenian and English), 79 linguistic books and dictionaries, 362 Armenian language children’s books, 470 English language children’s books.

Catholicos Aram I of the Holy See of Cilicia has dedicated copies of the works published by the Antelias publishing house. The Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Arshag Poladian, has assisted in the campaign to collect books for the library. Community members have also donated books.

In 2005, the library’s collection was enriched by several foreign language publications on the Armenian Genocide.

The Library committee has included the following members over the years: Sevag Padoyian, Mayda Demirjian, Hasmig Gardjigian, Moushegh Bedirian, Angela Kasardjian, Kevork Ohanian, Lina Mandjigian, Lena Kazandjian and Jirayr Akkari.

The library is open every Sunday evenings (7:30-10:30 PM).
