On Friday, 28 September 2001, for the first time in the history of the Council of the Armenian Community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, a dedicated Sunday School was established at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Sharjah.
This initiative was possible due to the efforts of our Parish Priest, Reverend Aram Deyirmenjian, and the assistance of the National Council. Currently, the school has 83 students, a permanent principal and seven dedicated teachers and it is under the supervision of the Church Council.
All Armenian children between the ages of 3 and 16 years old are eligible to enroll and attend the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church’s Sunday School.
The most sacred and important element in our children’s development is a thorough knowledge and understanding of their heritage. The Sunday School is the right place for Armenian children to learn about the spiritual legacy of our forefathers and about the truth of life, which are all part of the Sunday School’s academic curricula.
