We are pleased to announce to our community members that following the decision of His Holiness Aram I  Catholicos, Very Rev. Father Mesrob Sarkissian has been appointed as Catholicos’ Representative (Vicar) for the region of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

In order to take charge of his new mission in our region, the Very Rev. Father Mesrob will arrive in the UAE on Tuesday March 19th 2013.

Biography of Rev Father Sarkissian:

Fatfather-mesrobher Mesrob Sarkissian was born in Kamishli, Syria, on August 24th 1983. He baptismal name is Ourardou.
After receiving his Elementary Education at the Yeprad National School of Kameshli, in 1997 he was admitted at the Seminary of the Catholicosate of Cilicia.  After completing the Seminary’s nine-year theological and Armenian language courses, he took the vow of celibacy and was ordained as a priest on May 14th 2006, assuming the name Mesrob.
Over the past 7 years, Father Mesrob held the following positions at the Catholicosate of Cilicia:

  • Teacher at the seminary
  • Bearer of his Holiness’ sceptre (kavazanaguir)
  • Religious advisor to the Armenian Church University Student Union (HEHOM)
  • Moderator of the Youth Department
  • Religious advisor to the Conference of the Armenian University Alumni.

In 2006/2007, Rev Father Mesrob studied Arabic Literature at the Lebanese University.
During the past 2 two years, he took up courses of Theology at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).
