Under the presidency of Reverend Father Mesrob Sarkissian, Catholicossal representative for the UAE and Qatar, on Saturday 4th May 2013 at 7:00 p.m. the Armenian Community Council of Dubai and the Northern Emirates had its 3rd joint Council-Committees annual meeting, which has now become a traditional occurrence, with the newly appointed committees members to discuss their yearly programs, express their opinions and give suggestions on future courses of action.

Prior to the meeting, the 62 delegates were invited to Church to offer a prayer and receive blessings; after which they all headed to the Pierre Keusseyan community hall to start the day’s agenda.

Rev. Father Mesrob welcomed the attendees with warm and encouraging words and proceeded to give his point of view and suggestions to further enhance the committees’ work.
In his turn Mr. Ara Keusseyan, the chairman of the Armenian Community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, welcomed the delegates and laid out the Council’s vision and expectations for the coming year.

The members of each committee were given time to take turns to introduce themselves individually, present their yearly agendas and express their opinions to the assembly. Due to meeting each other and promoting inter-committee cooperation, a general sense of positive feeling was clearly expressed towards this gathering.

Apart from the traditional committees that have been working in our community over the years; this year saw the birth of three new committees that were introduced on the day of the event, the Young Armenians’ Network committee YAN, the 100th Armenian Genocide anniversary committee and the Pierre Keusseyan community hall management committee.

The meeting was concluded around 9:00 pm with a brief summary by Rev. Father Mesrop Sarkissian and a photo session which was followed by a light dinner at the community hall.
